Valerie has over forty years teaching Art and exhibiting as a professional artist. She is passionate about helping her students develop their art skills, who often become artists in their own right.

The following introductory 5 week courses are offered on Saturday morning 10 am - 12.30 pm
Watercolour Painting
Acrylic Painting
Cost of the course is $35 each week and covers the use of all art materials. Maximum class size 6 students.
Monday Art Class
10 am - 12 noon
Various techniques, materials and subject matter are explored. Students are encouraged to try new media and ideas. This structured course is taught in a supportive and friendly atmosphere. Students can also follow their own interests and be guided along the way. Maximum class size 6 students. The cost is $20 each week. Art materials are not supplied.

Art classes for beginners
Classes are held in my studio in Marion, near Hamilton College.
5 WEEK COURSE – Monday evenings 6 pm – 8 pm
- Learn to paint in a small group of no more than 4
- Easy step-by-step method using water-based media
- Complete 4 small paintings in a 5 week session, looking at water, reflections, flowers, trees, bushes, foliage, buildings
- Learn tips and tricks as you paint
Each lesson of approximately 2 hours costs $35. All materials are supplied … just turn up with your enthusiasm!
Private lessons
1 student - $80 for 2 hours
2 students - $40 each for 2 hours
3 students - $27 each for 2 hours
4 students - $20 each for 2 hours
Art materials are not supplied for private lessons but can be added as an extra cost depending on the course chosen. Time could also be used as a consultation session for your own artwork.
Introduction to art classes
Each of the following introductory courses is conducted in a step-by-step style lesson where everyone works on the same subject. Various forms of art are offered to help the beginner gain a better understanding of the materials they are using.

Each of the above courses is offered as a full-day workshop of 6 hours – Day negotiable. The cost of the full-day workshop is $280 which includes art materials… just turn up ready to learn!
1 student - $280
2 students - $140 each
3 students - $93 each
4 students - $70 each
