This painting was inspired by a trip to the Coorong in search of ibis. On the way back to Adelaide, I stopped at Lake Alexandrina, where to my excitement, a flock of ibis had landed in the water. I took photographs and then, suddenly, a dog barked and the ibis took flight. The beautiful formation of the birds captured here was based on one of the photographs taken.
