As I stopped at Lake Alexandrina on my way back from the Coorong, a flock of ibis suddenly arrived and settled on the water. While I was photographing them, a dog barked and the ibis suddenly took flight. This exact formation of the birds shown in this painting was one of the twenty photographs I took.
